Boating In Kentucky
As with all other states, Kentucky is home to some beautiful lakes and rivers that are worth exploring. A weekend in the water can prove to be a relaxing activity to take away the workweek stress. One of the largest lakes is Kentucky Lake, an artificial reservoir expanding over 160,300 acres and about 2,300 miles of shoreline. This lake gives its visitors limitless possibilities for boating exploration. With so much to do and the question that pops up is always, do I need a boating license?
The short answer is yes. Kentucky does require a Safe Boating Certificate Card or a Boater Education Certificate from an NSBLA approved course provider.
By taking this course, you will learn all the details covering topics ranging from boating terminology, marine environment, safe boat operation, emergency preparedness, among other essential topics. Taking a boating safety course should not be a matter of complying with the state regulations, but instead a way of learning the necessary skills to safely and adequately operate a boat without endangering property and, most importantly, human life.
